Characteristics
It can be distinguished from the species Chimonobambusa marmorea by its variegated foliage. Some of the leaves are streaked with white. The stems are striated, varying in color with age and exposure to the sun. In the fall, the red of certain stems is even more intense than in the Chimonobambusa marmorea species. Likes fertile soil. Cannot stand too much exposure to the sun.
